Magnus Kofi Amoatey

Magnus Kofi Amoatey is a lawyer who represented Yilo Krobo in the Eastern Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for two terms, from 2013 to 2021. He was born on 10 December 1948 and comes from Sra.

He studied sociology at the University of Ghana and law at the Ghana School of Law, qualifying in 1995. He retired as director of programmes at the National Commission on Culture and was a junior partner at Yilo Chambers in Accra. He won Yilo Krobo in 2012 with 61.5 percent of the vote, carrying all but three of its 124 polling stations, and held it in 2016. He is a Presbyterian, married with three children. Albert Tetteh Nyakotey of the NDC holds the seat today.
