Maidie Arkutu became managing director of Unilever Ghana on 1 May 2013 and later led Unilever Francophone Africa as vice president, chairman and managing director. She is a non-executive director of GTBank Ghana.

She has since worked as a senior franchise director at Coca-Cola for Algeria and Tunisia and in business development at Nutrifoods Ghana. Besides GTBank she has sat on the boards of Axis Pensions Group and Barclays Bank Ghana, the international board of the girls' education charity CAMFED and the leadership of United Way, and the steering committee of the Skills Development Fund.
