About Nana Yaw Ofori-Kuragu
Nana Yaw Ofori-Kuragu is a hotelier who represented Bosome-Freho in the Ashanti Region as an independent MP for two terms, from 2005 to 2013. He was born on 19 December 1963 and comes from Tepaso.
He earned an MBA in finance from the University of East London in 1994 and runs Cozy Lodge and Cozy Gardens in Kumasi. He won Bosome-Freho as an independent in 2004 with 81.9 percent of the vote and again in 2008 against the NPP's Kwadwo Kyei Frimpong, making him one of the few independents to hold a seat in the Ashanti Region. In 2012 he sought the NPP ticket, lost the primary to Kyei Frimpong, ran again as an independent and lost. He is a Catholic, married with two children. Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh of the NPP holds the seat today.
