Samuel Kofi Acheampong

Samuel Kofi Acheampong, known as Bronzy Teflon, is a Ghanaian media executive who was Chief Executive of Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), the Kumasi-based media group owned by the businessman Kwaku Oteng. He is widely reported to be Oteng's son. In November 2022 the ABN board removed him as chief executive and reassigned him as General Manager of Angel FM in Kumasi.

Building ABN

Angel Broadcasting Network began with a single station, Angel FM in Kumasi. Under Acheampong it grew to about twenty outlets, including Pure FM in Kumasi and Angel FM stations in Accra, Sunyani and other regional capitals, along with television and online platforms. He once said in an interview that ABN was "taking over Ghana soon".

Awards

In 2020 he collected several industry awards, including Mediapreneur of the Year at the Youth Excellence Awards, and he was nominated for the Forty Under 40 Awards. On 12 March 2021 the Business Executive Awards named him Baron in Advertising and Media Management.

Removal as CEO

At a meeting in Kumasi on 28 November 2022 the ABN board stripped him of the chief executive role. A letter dated 30 November, which leaked to the press, reassigned him to run Angel FM Kumasi as general manager. He responded publicly to the decision soon afterwards.
