Albert K. Fiadjoe

Albert K. Fiadjoe is an emeritus professor of public law at the University of the West Indies who chaired the Constitution Review Commission of Ghana from 2010 to 2012. He was born in Kumasi and holds Ghanaian and Barbadian citizenship.

He took his law degree at the University of Ghana and an LLM and a PhD at the University of London. He spent most of his career at the University of the West Indies in Barbados, where he was dean of law, and has been a visiting professor at Florida State and Howard universities. He works on public law, comparative law, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, and has consulted for the EU, UNDP, the World Bank, the Organisation of American States and the Commonwealth Secretariat.

President Mills appointed him to chair the nine-member commission reviewing the 1992 Constitution. It gathered more than 83,000 submissions from across Ghana and the diaspora and produced a 960-page report in 2012, to which the government replied with a white paper. He is a fellow and former council member of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences.
