About Archibald Lartey Djabatey
Archibald Lartey Djabatey was a lawyer who was Attorney-General and Minister of Justice in the last months of Hilla Limann's Third Republic government, in 1981. He came from Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region.
He took a law degree at the University of London and was called to the Ghana bar in 1964, then worked as a state attorney and senior state attorney. In 1979 he became Deputy Attorney-General to Joe Reindorf, and when Reindorf was moved to the Ministry of Local Government he succeeded him as Attorney-General.
The coup of 31 December 1981 ended his tenure, and the PNDC appointed G. E. K. Aikins in his place. Djabatey moved to the United Kingdom, was called to the English bar at Gray's Inn in 1983 and practised in London.
