Betty Mould-Iddrisu

Betty Mould-Iddrisu is a lawyer who became Ghana's first female Attorney-General in 2009, and later served as Minister for Education. She was born on 22 March 1953.

She went to Achimota School and Accra Academy, studied law at the University of Ghana and took a master's at the London School of Economics. She taught law at the University of Ghana and in 2003 became director of the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, advising governments on constitutional law, anti-corruption and asset recovery.

President Mills appointed her Attorney-General and Minister for Justice in February 2009, and moved her to the Ministry of Education in 2011. She resigned in January 2012. She is married to Mahama Iddrisu, a former defence minister, and is the sister of Alex Mould, a former head of GNPC.
