Anna Bossman

Anna Bossman is a lawyer, anti-corruption specialist and diplomat who was acting head of CHRAJ, director of integrity and anti-corruption at the African Development Bank, and Ghana's ambassador to France. She was born in Kumasi on 1 December 1957; her father, Dr Jonathan Emmanuel Bossman, represented Ghana at the UN in Geneva.

She went to Holy Child School and Achimota School, studied law and political science at the University of Ghana and was called to the bar in 1980. After working as an assistant state attorney she spent about twenty-five years in the oil, gas and power industries, including with Tenneco in Gabon, where she became the first woman secretary-general of the Gabonese union of petroleum companies. In 1996 she founded Bossman Consultancy to advise power utilities, donors and investors.

She was deputy commissioner of CHRAJ from 2002 to 2010 and acted as commissioner. In 2011 the African Development Bank hired her to run its department investigating fraud and corruption. President Akufo-Addo appointed her ambassador to France in 2017, also accredited to Portugal and as Ghana's permanent delegate to UNESCO. She has a daughter.
