Sista Afia

Francisca Duncan Williams Gawugah, known professionally as Sista Afia, is a Ghanaian singer and songwriter born on 7 January 1993 in Accra. She first caught the attention of music lovers through the MTN Hitmaker talent competition before breaking into the mainstream with her bubbly personality and confident Afrobeats sound.

Her breakout single “Jeje,” featuring Shatta Wale and Afezi Perry, became one of the most-played songs on Ghanaian airwaves and announced her as a force in the industry. She followed it with tracks such as “W’ankasa,” “Slay Queen,” and “Bad Energy,” building a reputation for catchy hooks and an unapologetically bold image.

Beyond the charts, Sista Afia has established herself as one of Ghana’s most commercially consistent female artists, earning features alongside some of the country’s biggest names and multiple nominations at Ghana Music Awards.
