Sophia Karen Edem Ackuaku

Sophia Karen Edem Ackuaku is a social worker and businesswoman who represented Domeabra-Obom in the Greater Accra Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for two terms, from 2017 to 2025. She comes from Anyarko in the Volta Region.

She studied law at Mountcrest University College, public relations at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and social work in Osu, and learned Dutch in Rotterdam. She was managing director of Eligreen/Amsos Ghana from 2004 to 2013 and deputy executive director for operations at the National Service Scheme from 2013 to 2016. She won Domeabra-Obom in 2016 with 68.3 percent and in 2020 with 60.5 percent, and sat on the Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs Committee. In 2014 she was enstooled as development queen mother of Adenkrebi, as Nana Afia Amponsah Ackuaku I. She is married with three children. Isaac Awuku Yibor of the NDC holds the seat today.
