About Yaw Owusu-Boateng
Yaw Owusu-Boateng is an educationist who represented Asene-Akroso-Manso in the Eastern Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Fifth and Sixth Parliaments, until 2017. He was born on 25 July 1955 and comes from Akyem Asene.
Owusu-Boateng studied sociology and geography at the University of Cape Coast and took a postgraduate certificate in comparative education research at the University of Copenhagen. Before Parliament he was a programme coordinator at AFS (American Field Service), the international exchange organisation. He won the seat in 2012 with 58 percent of the vote. He is married with three children. George Kwame Aboagye holds the seat today.
