About Ahmed Alhassan Yakubu
Dr Ahmed Alhassan Yakubu is an agronomist who represented Mion in the Northern Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for three terms, from 2005 to 2017. He was born in December 1957 and comes from Sang.
Yakubu earned a PhD in agronomy at Imperial College, University of London, in 2000 and worked at the CSIR's Savanna Agricultural Research Institute. He won Mion in 2004, 2008 and 2012, each time in a crowded field. He is married with three children. Misbahu Mahama Adams of the NDC holds Mion today.
