About Albert Abongo
Albert Abongo is a civil engineer who was Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing under President Mills and represented Bongo in the Upper East Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for four terms, from 2001 to 2017. He was born at Gowrie-Bongo on 15 September 1959.
Abongo studied civil engineering at KNUST, graduating in 1986, and took a course in ports and coastal engineering at the University of Trondheim in Norway in 1992. He worked as an engineer at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority. He served as Upper East Regional Minister and, from February 2009, as Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing. He is married with three children. Charles Bawaduah of the NDC holds Bongo today.
