Emmanuel Owusu-Mainu

Emmanuel Owusu-Mainu was an educationist who represented Atebubu-Amantin, in today's Bono East Region, for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for two terms, from 2005 to 2013. He was born on 3 September 1949 and came from Amantin.

He was assistant director for human resource development at the Ghana Education Service in Atebubu. He won the newly created Atebubu-Amantin seat in 2004 with 53.5 percent of the vote and held it in 2008. Sanja Nanja followed him as the NDC's MP in 2013 and holds the seat today. He belonged to the New Apostolic Church and was married with ten children. He died at 37 Military Hospital on 18 February 2014.
