About Eric Kwakye Darfour
Eric Kwakye Darfour is a New Patriotic Party (NPP) politician who represented Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region from 2013 to 2021 and served as Eastern Regional Minister from 2017. He was born at Achimota on 29 September 1957 and comes from Obo Kwahu.
Kwakye Darfour attended Obo Government School, St John's Grammar School and Ofori Panin Secondary School, studied French at the University of Dakar in Senegal in 1981 and took a degree in French and linguistics at the University of Ghana. He won Nkawkaw in 2012 and was re-elected in 2016 with 73 percent of the vote. President Akufo-Addo appointed him Eastern Regional Minister in January 2017. Joseph Frempong now holds the seat for the NPP.
