About Ernest Henry Norgbey
Weeks before the 2020 election, Ernest Henry Norgbey accused the Electoral Commission of deleting his name, and those of about 21,000 other Ashaiman voters, from the register. The EC disputed it; a day later he said his name and some 14,000 others had been restored.
Background
His roots are in Ho-Ziavi, in the Volta Region. A procurement specialist, he studied supply chain management to master's level at Coventry in England (2003) and business administration at UPSA (2011), and holds chartered membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (2014) and a postgraduate certificate in public procurement law from the University of Nottingham (2015). He taught at Happy Home Basic School from 2006 to 2009 and later worked as a procurement officer at NADMO.
Parliament
He won the NDC's Ashaiman primary in 2015 and the seat in 2016, and has held it since. In May 2023 he won the primary again with 1,627 votes. He has served on the Defence and Interior Committee. He is a Christian, married with one child.
