About Ernest Kofi Yakah
Ernest Kofi Yakah is an agriculturist who represented New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for three terms, from 2005 to 2017. He was born on 2 August 1959 and comes from Larve-Dabala in the Volta Region.
He holds a diploma in general agriculture from the University of Ghana and was a district coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organisation. He was one of the few NDC MPs from the Ashanti Region, winning New Edubiase in 2004, 2008 and 2012 with between 50 and 55 percent of the vote. He lost in 2016 to George Oduro of the NPP. He is married with six children. Abdul-Salam Adams of the NDC holds the seat today.
