Jones Dotse

Jones Victor Mawulorm Dotse is a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana, where he sat for fifteen years and briefly acted as Chief Justice in 2023. He was born on 8 June 1953 and comes from Kpando.

He went to Kpando Secondary School and Accra Academy, studied law at the University of Ghana and was called to the bar in 1978. After two years as a state attorney he founded Mawulorm Chambers in Ho and led the Volta regional bar. He became a High Court judge in 2002 and an Appeal Court judge in 2003, and in 2008 was appointed to the supreme courts of both the Gambia and Ghana.

His judgments include the case brought by Martin Amidu against the Woyome payments and the Achimota School land case. When Chief Justice Anin-Yeboah retired in May 2023 he acted as Chief Justice until his own retirement on 8 June 2023. He has chaired the councils of Ho Technical University and the University of Health and Allied Sciences, and the board of governors of Accra Academy.
