Justin Frimpong Kodua

Justin Frimpong Kodua, often styled Justin Kodua Frimpong, is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician who serves as the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, one of Ghana's two major political parties. Born on 14 November 1982 in Kumasi, he rose rapidly through the party's youth structures to occupy one of its most powerful administrative offices.

Kodua was educated at Opoku Ware Secondary School in Kumasi before travelling to London, where he studied for a City and Guilds certificate in information and communications technology at Hackney Community College. He later trained as a lawyer, adding legal credentials to his political and administrative experience, a combination that has informed his work as a party organiser and public figure.

His political involvement began at the regional level within the NPP's youth wing. He was part of the Ashanti Regional Campaign team in the 2008 election, became deputy Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser in 2010, and in 2018 was elected Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, building a base within the party's grassroots. Before rising to the party's top administrative post he served as chief executive officer of the Youth Employment Agency, where he reported overseeing the creation of a large number of jobs for young people during his tenure.

In 2022 Kodua contested and won the position of General Secretary at the NPP's national delegates conference, becoming the party's chief administrator and one of its most prominent national officers. In that role he has been responsible for the day-to-day management of party affairs, coordination of campaigns and communication of the party's positions, functions that placed him at the centre of the NPP's operations through a demanding electoral period.

Following the party's electoral setback, Kodua has positioned himself as a figure central to its rebuilding effort, filing to seek re-election as General Secretary and presenting himself as a tested asset for the party's recovery. He has featured in internal contests and public debates about the direction of the NPP as it seeks to regroup. Still relatively young for such a senior role, he remains an influential organiser within Ghanaian conservative politics, combining legal training, grassroots credibility and administrative experience as he continues to shape the fortunes of his party.
