Nana Osei-Adjei

Nana Osei-Adjei is a Ghanaian banker and politician born on 2 February 1975 in Jumapo Koforidua in the Eastern Region, who serves as the Member of Parliament for the New Juaben North constituency. A member of the New Patriotic Party who won the seat in December 2024 as a first-term parliamentarian, he assumed office on 7 January 2025 representing a constituency in the New Juaben Municipal District of the Eastern Region, succeeding the previous MP Kwasi Boateng Adjei and bringing a banking career to the parliamentary representation of a constituency at the heart of the Koforidua metropolitan area.

Osei-Adjei has built his career as a banker, working in the financial services sector in roles that have given him professional expertise in banking operations, financial intermediation and the management of the financial services that businesses and individuals depend on for saving, lending and transactional banking needs. His banking career in the Eastern Region gives him practical knowledge of the financial landscape of the area he represents, including the credit access challenges facing small businesses, the deposit mobilisation needs of local communities and the role of formal financial services in supporting economic development in a secondary Ghanaian city.

Political career

He contested the NPP's parliamentary primaries for New Juaben North in January 2024 and won, securing the party's nomination for the constituency ahead of the general election. In the December 2024 general election, he won the New Juaben North seat with 17,390 votes, defeating the NDC's Samuel Adongo who received 10,600 votes, a majority of nearly 7,000 that reflected the NPP's continued strength in the New Juaben area despite the party's national reversal. He assumed office on 7 January 2025, joining the NPP's minority bench in the Ninth Parliament.
