About Simon Osei Mensah
Simon Osei-Mensah is an economist and banker who represented Bosomtwe in the Ashanti Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for three terms, from 2005 to 2017, and was Ashanti Regional Minister from 2017 to 2025. He was born on 27 May 1961 and comes from Jachie.
He holds a master's in economics from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria, and trained in banking in Denmark, and was operations manager at the Kuapa Kokoo Credit Union. He won Bosomtwe in 2004 with 82 percent of the vote and held it in 2008 and 2012. In January 2017 President Akufo-Addo nominated him as Ashanti Regional Minister, and he served both terms. He is a Catholic, married with five children. Yaw Osei Adutwum of the NPP holds Bosomtwe today.
