About Amadu Seidu
Amadu Seidu is an economist, insurer and banker who represented Yapei-Kusawgu in the Northern (now Savannah) Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from the first Parliament of the Fourth Republic in 1993 until 2017, one of the longest unbroken runs of any MP. He was born on 9 March 1954 and comes from Mpaha.
Seidu graduated from the University of Ghana in 1982. He won Yapei-Kusawgu in the 1992 parliamentary election and every election after that until 2012. He also sat on the reconstituted board of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund. John Abdulai Jinapor of the NDC, now Minister for Energy, holds the seat today.
