About Amin Amidu Sulemana
Amin Amidu Sulemana is a mechanical engineer and diplomat who represented the Sissala area of the Upper West Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the first two parliaments of the Fourth Republic and again from 2013 to 2017, serving as Ghana's ambassador to Egypt, Upper West Regional Minister and Minister for Roads and Highways. He was born at Gyawia on 20 October 1955.
Sulemana attended Nandom Secondary School and studied mechanical engineering at KNUST, working as an engineer before entering politics in 1992. He won the seat in the 1992 and 1996 elections. After years as ambassador to Egypt, President Mills made him Upper West Regional Minister in January 2012. He won the new Sissala West seat that December, and in January 2013 President Mahama appointed him Minister for Roads and Highways. Mohammed Adams Sukparu of the NDC holds Sissala West today.
