About Mutawakilu Adam
Mutawakilu Adam is an accountant who represented Damongo in the Savannah Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from 2017 to 2021, after serving as District Chief Executive for West Gonja. He comes from Damongo.
Adam trained as a teacher at Bagabaga Training College and taught from 1996 to 2003. He studied administration at the University of Ghana and took an executive MBA at KNUST. He was chief cashier and head of treasury at the University for Development Studies' central administration in Tamale from 2004 to 2009. President Mills then made him DCE for West Gonja, a post he held until 2013, focusing on education, water and health. He is married with five children. Samuel Abu Jinapor of the NPP holds Damongo today.
