About Nana Akomea
Nana Akomea is a communications professional who represented Okaikwei South in Accra for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for four terms, from 1997 to 2013, and served in the Kufuor government. He was born on 5 August 1961 and comes from Nsutam.
He went to Ghana Secondary Technical School in Takoradi and studied communication at the University of Ghana, then worked at Focal Point Advertising. He won Okaikwei South in 1996 and held it until 2012, when Ahmed Arthur kept it for the NPP. Under President Kufuor he was Minister of Information from 2003 to 2005 and Minister for Manpower Development and Employment from 2007 to 2009. From 2011 he was the NPP's Director of Communications, and in 2017 President Akufo-Addo made him managing director of the State Transport Company, a post he left in February 2025. He married Eno Akua Awuah-Kyerematen in 2019. Ernest Adomako of the NDC holds Okaikwei South today.
