About Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei
Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei is a businesswoman and royal of Akropong who represented the Akropong constituency in the Eastern Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2017 to 2025. She served as Deputy Minister for Information and later as Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry.
Royal roots
She was born on 24 July 1982 in Akropong, the daughter of Nana Osae Nyampong IV and Mrs Aforo Asiamah-Adjei. She attended Alsyd Academy and St Rose's Senior High School, studied psychology at the University of Ghana and earned master's degrees in logistics and supply chain management from the University of Exeter and in peace and security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre.
Business and government
She ran Bekleen Limited and Pongas Limited as managing director before entering Parliament at 34. In government she moved from the information ministry to trade and industry.
Constituency
Her local projects included computers for Mangoase Methodist School, a GH₵30,000 contribution to the chief's palace at Adawso and support for refurbishing the Akropong Daakye Clinic. She has four children. Sammi Awuku succeeded her as Akropong's MP in 2025.
