Nasiru Sulemana Gbadegbe

Nasiru Sulemana Gbadegbe was a Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana from 2009 to 2020, after twenty years on the lower benches. He was born on 8 December 1950, came from the Volta Region, and died on 5 April 2025 at the age of 74.

He took his law degree at the University of Ghana in 1973 and qualified at the Ghana School of Law in 1975,. He was appointed to the High Court in 1989 and the Court of Appeal in 1999.

President Mills nominated him to the Supreme Court in 2009. Parliament approved him unanimously on 30 October 2009 and he was sworn in on 2 November. He retired in December 2020 after delivering his valedictory judgment, ending thirty-one years in the judiciary.
