Rachel Florence Appoh

Rachel Florence Appoh is an accountant who represented Gomoa Central in the Central Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from 2013 to 2017 and served as a Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection. She was born on 6 October 1980.

Appoh studied accounting at Pentecost University, graduating in 2008, and later took an MSc in international finance and accounting at the University of Buckingham and a master's in governance and leadership at GIMPA. She worked as an auditor at KAMA Health Services and in cost control at AngloGold Ashanti and Peace FM. She lost Gomoa Central in 2016 to the NPP's Naana Eyiah and has since spoken about the cost of politics, saying she took a GH₵700,000 loan to fund that campaign. She is married to Samuel Nana Opoku and has one child.
