Alhaji Muhammad Bawah Braimah won Ejura-Sekyedumase for the NDC in 2016 and again in 2020. He was the municipality's chief executive from 2013 to 2016.
Background
He was born on 28 November 1959 and comes from Kulungugu in the Upper East Region. He took his O levels at Tamale Secondary School in 1979, later earned a BSc in public administration at GIMPA and an MBA from the Almond Institute. He was NADMO's municipal coordinator from 2009 to 2013 and runs Mubabra Company Limited in Ejura.
Elections
He beat the NPP's Mohammed Salisu Bamba by 23,277 votes to 21,795 in 2016, and by 30,056 to 25,009 in 2020. He has served on the Public Accounts and Defence and Interior committees. He is a Muslim, and local youth groups have honoured him for his support for education.
