Efe Grace

Efe Grace is a Ghanaian gospel singer and songwriter from Agogo in the Ashanti Region. After years as a backing vocalist for some of Ghana's best-known singers, she went solo in 2018 and was nominated for Gospel Artiste of the Year at the 2021 Ghana Music Awards.

Early life

She is the eldest of three children of the gospel minister Rev. Mensah Bonsu. She finished Yaa Asantewaa Girls' School in 2006 and graduated from Christian Service University College in 2011 with a degree in banking and finance.

Career

She began singing as a teenager as a backing vocalist for her father, and later became a worship leader at her church while singing jazz at hotels and restaurants in Kumasi. She sang backing vocals for Sonnie Badu, Ohemaa Mercy, Becca and Kwabena Kwabena.

Her debut single, Yehowa Ne M'abankese (October 2018), reworked one of her father's songs, and King of Glory followed. Lord Have Your Way (2020) earned nominations for Gospel Artiste of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2021 Ghana Music Awards. In 2021 she released Overflow, Sound of Heaven and the project The Christ, and at the 2022 3Music Awards she was nominated for Gospel Act, Best Female Vocal Performance and Performer of the Year. Later singles include Agyenkwa Hene (2022) and In Your Name Jesus (2024).
