Emmanuel Adjei Anhwere is a former COCOBOD quality control officer who represented Atwima-Nwabiagya South in the Ashanti Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2017 to 2025. He was born on 20 September 1962 and comes from Asante Mampong.
From cocoa quality to Parliament
For years Anhwere worked at the Ghana Cocoa Board's Kumasi branch, where he was senior quality control officer before entering politics. He studied business administration at the University of Education, Winneba and later completed an executive MBA in public administration at KNUST.
A landslide seat
Atwima-Nwabiagya South is one of the NPP's strongest seats, and Anhwere's first win in 2016 came with more than 83 percent of the vote. He was returned in 2020.
He is married with five children and worships in the Anglican Church. Shirley Kyei succeeded him as the NPP's MP in 2025.
