Iddrisu Abdul-Kareem is a businessman who represented Nanton in the Northern Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2009 to 2013. He was born on 1 June 1948 and comes from Nanton.
He studied accountancy at KNUST's Institute of Planning and Technology Administration and is chief executive of Kadil Company in Tamale. He lost Nanton in 2004 to Alhassan Yakubu of the NDC, then won it in 2008 with 45.9 percent of the vote. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed of the NDC took the seat in 2012. He is married with seven children. Abdul-Khaliq Mohammed Sherif of the NDC holds Nanton today.
