Kofi Obiri Yeboah

Kofi Obiri-Yeboah is a Ghanaian lawyer, military officer and politician born on 6 June 1975 who serves as the Member of Parliament for the Subin constituency in the Ashanti Region. A member of the New Patriotic Party who won the seat in December 2024 after an overwhelming primary and general election performance, he brings to Parliament one of the most distinctive dual-career profiles of any first-term MP in the Ninth Parliament: an eighteen-year career as a senior officer in the Ghana Armed Forces combined with a legal career as the founder of a law firm specialising in complex commercial, real estate and energy transactions.

Military and legal career

Obiri-Yeboah served in the Ghana Armed Forces for eighteen years, progressing to the rank of a senior military officer with a career that included both local and international assignments. Military service at this level involved command responsibilities, administrative leadership and deployment on foreign assignments, giving him an operational breadth that few of his parliamentary colleagues can match from direct experience. He transitioned from active military service to establish Obiri Yeboah and Co., a legal firm whose practice areas span litigation, real estate law, oil and gas law, corporate law and administrative law. Political career

He contested the NPP's parliamentary primaries for Subin in January 2024 and won with over 85 per cent of the valid delegate votes, one of the most one-sided primary results of the 2024 cycle. In the December 2024 general election, he secured the Subin seat with over 85 per cent of the vote, a majority that places him among the NPP's most electorally secure individual MPs in the Ashanti Region's Greater Kumasi cluster of constituencies. He assumed office on 7 January 2025 as a first-term parliamentarian representing a constituency in the Kumasi Metropolitan District.
