William Owuraku Aidoo

William Owuraku Aidoo is a Ghanaian energy consultant, farmer and New Patriotic Party (NPP) politician who represented Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti Region for three terms, from 2013 to 2025, and served as a Deputy Minister for Energy.

Teacher, banker, dam builder

Born on 30 January 1964 at Hemang-Kwabre, Aidoo had a varied working life before Parliament. He was a senior superintendent in the Ghana Education Service in the early 1990s, then spent close to two decades at Ghana Commercial Bank, rising to senior manager while lecturing part-time at the University of Education, Winneba. He later ran Kucons Company Limited, a construction firm that builds and repairs dams. He studied at Tetrem Secondary School and St Augustine's College and earned a degree in entrepreneurship from GIMPA in 2005.

Award-winning farmer

Farming has been a constant. In 2011 he won the national award for the best cashew farmer.

Parliament and the energy ministry

Aidoo entered Parliament in January 2013 and held his seat in 2016 and 2020. His energy background made him a natural fit for the Ministry of Energy, where he served as deputy minister. He is married with five children and is a Catholic.
