About Yaw Buaben Asamoa
Yaw Buaben Asamoa is a lawyer and New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator who represented Adenta in Accra from 2017 to 2021. He was born on 16 September 1964.
Asamoa studied law at the University of Ghana and the Ghana School of Law and holds postgraduate certificates from GIMPA and Harvard. He worked in government as a programme officer from 2003 and in 2005 became senior special assistant to Vice-President Aliu Mahama. He won Adenta in 2016 by about 1,400 votes over the NDC's Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, who beat him in the 2020 rematch and still holds the seat. He later became special adviser to Alan Kyerematen's Movement for Change.
