About Augustine Collins Ntim
Augustine Collins Ntim is a scientist and former district chief executive who represented Offinso North in the Ashanti Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2009 to 2025, and served as a Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development. He was born at Nkenkaasu on 24 September 1964.
From the lab to local government
Ntim trained as a biologist, earning both his BSc and an MSc in reproductive biology at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and later took two short courses at Harvard Kennedy School. He moved into public administration as District Chief Executive for Offinso North from 2005 to 2009.
Four terms in Parliament
He entered Parliament after the 2008 election and was re-elected in 2012, 2016 and 2020, although his majorities in the later contests were narrow. His experience as a DCE carried into government when he became a deputy minister for local government. He also worked on the Health, Government Assurance and Youth, Sports and Culture committees.
He is married with six children. Fred Kyei Asamoah took over Offinso North for the NPP in 2025.
