About Barbara Asher Ayisi
Barbara Asher Ayisi is a teacher who represented Cape Coast North in the Central Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2017 to 2021 and served as a Deputy Minister for Education. She was born in Effutu on 12 February 1976.
Asher Ayisi trained at OLA College of Education and the University of Education, Winneba, and took a master's in English literature at the University of Cape Coast. She taught in the Ghana Education Service and was a housemistress at Wesley Girls' High School from 2010 to 2016. She later chaired the local organising committee for the Women's Premier League Super Cup. She worships at Victory Bible Church International and is married with two children. Kwamena Minta Nyarku of the NDC holds the seat today.
