About Barbara Oteng-Gyasi
Barbara Oteng-Gyasi is a corporate lawyer who represented Prestea-Huni Valley in the Western Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2017 to 2021 and served as Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts. She was born on 5 October 1964.
Oteng-Gyasi studied law at the University of Ghana and the Ghana School of Law and headed the legal department of Vivo Energy Ghana from 2012 to 2016. In government she was first a Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and then, from 2019, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, overseeing the Year of Return. She lost the seat in 2020 to Robert Wisdom Cudjoe of the NDC. She has five children.
