Kwasi Anin-Yeboah

Kwasi Anin-Yeboah was Chief Justice of Ghana from January 2020 to May 2023. He was born at Toase in the Ashanti Region on 24 May 1953.

He attended Amaniampong and Apam secondary schools, studied at the University of Ghana and qualified at the Ghana School of Law in 1981. He began as an assistant state attorney in Koforidua, became a partner at Afisem Chambers and was elected Eastern Regional Bar president. He joined the High Court in 2002, the Court of Appeal in 2003 and the Supreme Court in June 2008. He also taught civil procedure at the Ghana School of Law and chaired the Legal Aid Board.

Football administration has run alongside his legal career. He chaired disciplinary and appeals bodies at the Ghana Football Association, sat on FIFA's adjudicatory chamber and chaired FIFA's Ethics Committee.

President Akufo-Addo made him Chief Justice in January 2020. The court he led dismissed John Mahama's petition against the 2020 election result. He retired on his seventieth birthday in 2023, and Justice Jones Dotse acted in his place.
