Kofi Bediako Gershon Gbediame

Gershon Kofi Bediako Gbediame is a physics teacher who represented Nkwanta South, in today's Oti Region, for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for five terms, from 1997 to 2017, and served as Majority Chief Whip. He comes from Pusupu Ntruo.

He studied physics and education at the University of Cape Coast, graduating in 1979, and was senior superintendent and a tutor at Presbyterian Boys' Senior High School in Legon. He won Nkwanta South in 1996 and held it for twenty years, taking 57.7 percent of the vote in 2008. He succeeded E. T. Mensah as Majority Chief Whip. Geoffrey Kini of the NDC followed him in 2017 and holds the seat today. He worships at the Great Commission Church International and is married with five children.
