William Agyapong Quaittoo

William Agyapong Quaittoo is an agribusiness specialist who represented Akim Oda in the Eastern Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for two terms, from 2013 to 2021. He was born at Akim Gyadam on 11 September 1966.

He grew up partly in the Northern Region, schooling in Tamale and Savelugu, then went to Ghana Secondary Technical School in Takoradi and Oda Secondary School. He studied agribusiness at Galilee College in Israel, chemistry and education at the University of Cape Coast, and took an MBA at the University of Ghana. He worked for OIC International and EnterpriseWorks Ghana, and from 2006 to 2012 as a manager at the Ghana Cocoa Board. He won Akim Oda in 2012 with 62.7 percent and in 2016 with 73.4 percent, and chaired the Education Committee. He was briefly a Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture in the Akufo-Addo government. He lost the 2020 NPP primary to Alexander Akwasi Acquah and later became chief executive of the Tree Crops Development Authority.
